Dress Code

Bedford Dance Center’s dress code for each dance genre is listed below, which includes specifications for types and colors of leotards, tights, shoes, etc. We have also included a list of local and online sources where you can purchase and/or order the supplies needed.  Please see the information for each of our programs, if you have any additional questions.

Traditional Ballet Attire Female:  Pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers
Traditional Ballet Attire Male:  White t-shirt, dance shorts, black ballet slippers

Traditional Dance Attire Female: Black leotard, pink seamed tights, pink canvas or leather ballet slippers

All female ballet students should wear traditional attire (i.e. pink tights, pink ballet slippers & hair pulled back securely in a bun).  The following are the assigned leotard colors for each level.

Level 1 – Pink or lavender leotard
Level 2 – Any shade of blue (navy, royal, light blue, turquoise, etc.) leotard
Level 3 – Any shade of red (burgundy, garnet, wine, etc.) leotard
Levels 4 through 7 – Any color leotard for ballet technique classes

Traditional Male Attire:  White t-shirt, dance shorts, black ballet slippers

Traditional Female Attire:
Black leotard must be worn for all levels of Pointe
Properly fitted pointe shoes with ribbons and elastics secured

For your convenience a complete listing of dress code items is available at www.discountdance.com. From the site on the left hand side click on the blue tab labeled “Dance Teacher Program”. On the next page you will click on the green left side tab “Teacher Log In/Search”. Insert our Teacher ID “TP65625”. From our Dress Code page you will find a drop down menu “Currently Showing”. Select the appropriate category (tights, shoes, leotards, etc.) for the items you wish to view.
