ID Ballet 3 / 4 offers additional challenges for the dancer that has mastered ID Ballet 1 and ID Ballet 2 — expanding their knowledge of dance terminology, and progressing into more intricut ballet movement and core stengthening. Students at this level are tested for their knowledge of ballet terminology. They are also evaluated based on a number of criteria for beginning pointe work — the shape of the foot, does the dancer have flat feet, a very low arch, or toes that are significantly different in length; does the dancer have the physical and emotional strength necessary to begin pointe work; does the dancer have good alignment?
This class has a required curriculum which includes 2 ballet classes a week as well as enrichment classes in modern and jazz technique. Additional enrichment classes available include Hip Hop, Tap and Acro. Dancers must be at least 9 to 15 years old to be enrolled in this class.
This class will offer Pre-Pointe strengthening exercises for students moving forward to Beginning Pointe classes.
The syllabus is designed to properly prepare the serious student in a logical and safe progression of skills. Although each dancer progresses differently, successful completion of ID Ballet 3 / 4 can take as long as 2 years.
